The final result of the Rawlings Sribelai. ship Examination is thab James Bi.hop, with 60 marks, .Won the scholarship. Bishop belongs to the Newton Easb School. Edward Crossby, of Mount Eden, who " tied" with Bishop in ih_ firsbe_a_iinat__i, was in the final test awarded 58 marks. The scholarship jb worth £10 a year, with free tuition at the Auckland College tod Grammar school, ahd books.
The 14th session of bhe Courb of (.onvocation of the New Zealand Ut.it_r»_y was commenced on January 7th at the Auckland University Buildings, in Edenetreeb. Some IS graduates were presenb, including several of the teachers ab pr'esenb in Auckland in connection with the annual meeting of the Council of tbe New Zealand Educational Institute. In the absence of tho President (Mr Milne, of Dunedin), Mr F. E. Baume, President of the Graduat.*' Association, occupied tho Chair. Tha business transacted was not important.
The fourteenth annual meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Educational Institute was held during the early part of this month ab the Wellesley-treat Public School, Auckland, Mr Kalph D.
