The gum markeb has remained firm during the pasb week wibh a steady inquiry for all grades. East Coasb has been in sbrong demand and improved in price during bho month. fiood ordinary has also met wibh ready sale, while all sorts of black gum have been asked for during the pa«b fortnight. The supplies of gum for the 23 daya of December total 464 tons, so that the output will exceed thab of the Bame month lasb year. The sup plies from mail to mail total 568 tons, while the export for the same period amounted to 653 tons. Our exports are, to London : —Star of New Zealand, 8 tons ; Rakaia, 150 tons ; Tasmania, 14 tons ; Waihora, 33 tons, and to New York, Spartan, 448 tons. The Clan McLeod is now loading for New York, and the Motley, expected every day, will follow. The barque Silverabrean. is loading for London.
