The report of the Union Steamship Company's mutual benefit society shows that the receipts for the year, including the Company's contributions of £315 12s 3d, were £2, 690 18a 3d, and the expenditure £2,237 10a lOd, leaving a surplus of £453 7* 4d. This brings tbe total funds np to £4,342 10a. The sick pay of 181 members ainonnted to £872, " general claims £30, medical attendance £552, medicines £2&Q, surrender values £236 to 91 members, aud gratuities £67. The membership is &80, Tha five years during which the Company agreed to subsidise the contributions hava expired. From this source, i_.clnding the initial donation, £2,599 haa been derived.
