A reef bas beon struck in the low level, I which proves to be from four to five feet in width. Gold ia visible in the stone, and the ore generally prospects well from wall to wall. One hundred and sight feet of backs are available 320 feeb from the eorface. This discovery augurs well for tho future of the Kuaotunu field ab the low levels. PREMIER, MONARCH OF ALL AND SUPERB. A London syndicate has made overture! to take up these properties on a six months' working optien, and the directors have granted a free option until the 28th February to allow of mail reply to tbe advices which were sent Home by lasb San Francisco mail, with full plans and report**, by Mr VV. H. Chnrton, who repreeente bhe syndicate in Auckland. These combined properti-.* have an area of 226 acres in an exceptionally promising part of Kuaotunu, and there ia every reason to believe thab tbe judicious expenditure of capital oa systematic development will meet with results satisfactory to the shareholders and of great importance to the field generally. WAITAIA. The sum of £2,000 has been paid ont at the office of Mr W. H. Churton, Sborbland-streeb, being a portion of the £3,000 purchase money paid by the English Company that has acquired this property. Work at the mine is going on now under the direction of Mr Skreine.
