A crushing of 12 loads of quartz broken from the No. 1 and Monarch reefa was completed on December Sth for a retsrn of 16cz_ 18dwb melted gold, worth £45 IGa lOd. The return i 3 a very satisfactory one, aapecialiy with regard to the quartz won from tbe No. 1 reef at the Multuin level. NEW WHAU. At the half-yearly meeting of shareholders of the New Whan G.M. Company the Hon. W. McCuliough (Chairman of Directors) waa present, and stated that a cable had been received that the Company had been registered at Sot__er.se. House. During the past half-year tho sum of £822 had been spent in developing the Company's property. The c_,.4i in bank and on haod on Oct. 31ab amounted to £211 0a 4d. PURIRI G.M. COMPANY. The half yearly meeting waa held on December 22nd. Colonel Burton was in the chair. The director*' report grated that during the half year ju. t ended the work done on the mine haa further evidenced the continuous character of the ree?3 on the Company's property, and has confirmed the opinion always held by the directors as to the suitability of the ground for development by means of adequate capital. The report waa adopted. VICTORIA. The manager telegraphed on Dec. 16 : — "Crushed 125 loada of quartz for a yield of 224uz of retorted gold, \aiue £616." WAIOTAHI. The Waiotahi crushing for a month yielded 2090z lSdwt melted goid from 170 tona dirt.
