Wool. —The sales cbsed fairly well bins day. Since close of laat sales greasy merino, superior, medium, and inferior, washed and scoured merino, medium and inferior, fine greasy washed and scoured crossbred, slipe, medium and coarse washed and medium and coarse scoured crossbred, and greasy merino lambs super, medium and inferior, are id per lb higher. Other descriptions unchanged. Tbe total quantity sold during the pastsales is 176,000 bales, of which 90,000 bales hare been taken for the Continent, and 22,000 bales for America. Ib is estixaatad that 20,000 bales have been held over for future disposal. Frozen Mutton.—Mutton markeb sluggish. Wellington mutton is worth 2gd per lb. „_______________
Aba meeting of the Waterworks Committee of the City Council, yesterday, the City Engineer submitted a full report on the city water supply, making certain suggestions for the consideration of the Council in connection with the future increased consumption of water, in conse quence of the increase of population in the city. Ifc waa stated that ati present there was no immediate naed for extra provision in connection with the water supply.
