JOHN BANCROFT'S DISAPPEARANCE.
BANKRUPTCY PROCEEDINGS,
At the Supreme Court in Cbamber& thia morning the recent disappoanmco of Jolhj Bancroft, manager of the Auckland Industrial and Provident Pormanonb Building Land and Investment; Society, came up in connection with bankruptcy proceedings instibuted by tho Society, Mr Oliver Nicholson, acting for the Building Society, tnado an application, under the Bankruptcy Ach, 1892, for direction as to service of Kummotia to John Bancroft, of Auckland, accountant, to show cause why he should nob be adjudged a bankrupt. Mr Nicholson stated tliafc Bancroft's laafc place of residence was ab Mrs Sterling's, Hamilton Road. Mr Justice Conolly: "I understand he has departed out of the colony, and bis residence ia nob now knaewn ?" Mr Nicholson : " Yes, Your Honor." His Honor: Tho sumtaonß will be issued with a copy of the petition in bankruptcy, ha served ab hie hi« 6 known place oi rosidoHCo ; no limitation &a bo-time.
