NAPIER.
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)
Cobomandel, this day.
The top level has now been cleased out for a distance of over 150fb, 100 ft of which is on th 9 line of leader. In order to tost its worth, a sbope has been carried alone for 25fb, the stone giving fair prospects all the way. Operations have, however, been suspended here in the meantime, and the beating ont of a block on No. 1 leader above the intermediate level has been taken in hand. It was {torn this leader that the recent 10 ton crushing which returned the handsome yield of 50oz, or soz per ton, was obtained, and, as colours can now be seen in the stone when broken out, ib is surmised that this is also payable ore. The present block measures 30 r 40ft, but the leader can still be'driven on, and further opened up at the intermediate, whilst ib remains mfcacb down to the No. 3 level, from which ie can be seen' that plenty of scope atiU remains for much useful and payable work, and the discovery of an important find on tnis leader alone.
