TAMIHANA G.M. COMPANY.
A meeting of shareholders in the Tamihana claim, Whangamafca, was held yesterday afternoon in Mr J. B. Gilfillan's office, when ib was decided to form the property into a company (no liability) and to register ib as the Tamihana Goldmining Company. The following were elected directors :— Messrs W» Gorrie, W. S. Wilson, F. T. Ward, J. C. Colbeck, and A. M. McMahon. The capital was fixed ab £12,000 in 60,000 shares of 4s each. Mr Giltillan was elected legal manager, Mr F. L. Prime auditor, Mr A. Buchanan solicitor, and the Bank of New Zealand waß appointed bankers to the Company. Mr W. Gome was elected as Chairman of Direcbors. ALICE. Some Bfconb from the Alice special claim, situated bebwean Kennedy Bay and Cabbage Bay, has been assayed by Mr Kenrick, of CoromandeU for a return of £16 6a 9d per ton. EXCHANGE. A tneebing of shareholders in the Exchange Goldmining Company was held at the offices of Mr H. Gilfilian Jun. this morning, Mr A. Kidd occupying the chair, when resolutions were unanimously adopted authorising the sale of the property by the directors. GOLD AT TUHUA RANGES. Messrs W. Moon and Bailey have been prospecting for gold in the Tubua—Hurakia ranges, near Lake Taupo, lately, and have, it is said, discovered some auriferous reefs. Mr Moon has brought some stone to Auckland to be tested. Mr Bailey intends prospecting the Kaimanawa Ranges. GOLDEN BILL EXTENDED. Two good views of this mine, showing the works, appear in this week's "Graphic." They form an excellent addition to the " Graphic's" gallery of mining pictures, which must now be assuming large dimensions. GOLD IN THE KING COUNTRY. Mr W. Cuesen, surveyor, of Waikato, waa ab Tokaanu, Lake Taupo, last week, and had some auriferous quartz specimens with him, which be had procured from a reef in the King Country nob far from Taupo. GOLD ON CROWN LANDS. The Auckland Crown Lands Board has J withdrawn from selection' the Grown land I open for selection at Maraetai, as it is enp-
posed to contain gold, and also all the land at bhe Great Barrier Island, for the eamo reason.
