There waa an improved demand for better c!;tas stocks on the Excuango to-day, buyors manifeating greater inclination than - tor _ some days past to mßab the demands of holders. There were buyers of the various insurance and gas shares at * better* rates, while bransactions in Colonial Sugar (£2O paid up) shares were reported ab £27 10s 6d. In mining stocka advances were registered by Waitekauri Uniteds which sold at 15., Woodatocks ab 44s 6d, City of Dunedin 2s Bd, Imperials 2h 4d, Norfolks 5s 2d, and Hazelbanks at 5s 8d: Centrals wero firm at 2s 10d, Jewels at Is Id, and sovereigns at Is 6d. Transactions took place in Victors up to 5s 6d, while large lines of Waitekauri Kings took place at lid, WaihiSilverton shares were still in demand at 60s. Coromandel stocks had good business. Hauraki North shares were in great demand, lis 6d being offered for paid up shares, while contributing changed hands at 9s 6d te 9s 9d. Bay Views sold at 2s 4d, and Britannias 2s 3d. Hauraki South shares farmed in price, eaies being made up to 3s 9d, at which price there were further sellers.
