Wellington, this day. A return obtained oc the motion of Mr WIHi«, was laid on the table of tbe House to-day, showing that there are 28 cadet corps, with a strength of 1,081, connected with colleges and coltogiato schools in the colony, and 26 such corps, with 1,021 members connected with the primary public schools of the colony. A farther return asked for by some members, shows taut &D the end of 1895 tbo tobal strength of tbe volunteer force in the colony was 5,288, nii'ttinet 6,700 in 1890. There was a total of 41 of all ranks on the district reserve corps on the 31st of December last.
