AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.
Messrs Hunter and Nolan report horse feed, grain, seeds :, Rather large quantities of maize came forward, and resulted in a Blight decline in value, other cereals without alteration. We quote : Maize, on wharf, 2s lld bushel, ex atore 39 2d to 3s 3d ; feed oats, 2s 3d; seed oats, 2. 4d to 2s 6d ; Dun oats, 2a fid ; bran, £4 per ton ; oaten chaff, £3 5s to £3 10a ton. The demand for grass seed declining , rye graes, 3s 3d to 4a 6d; Poverty Bay, 6a 6d; cocksfoot, 5s to 6s 6d bushel. Above an average number of horses were brought forward. Medium to heavy draught sold ab the previous week's values. For heavy draughb from £12 to £18 10a was paid ; medium draughb, £8 19s to £15; lighb harness, £4 lOa to £9; hacks, £3 10a to £8 153. Wool, hides, skin, tallow, bones: Extra stoub ox hide, up to 7£d lb ; Btoub or, 4d to sd; steer and cow, 2|d to 3Jd ; calf skins, 2|d to 3_d ; horse hides, 5s 3d each ; tallow, interior quality, 14s 6d to 14s 9d cwb-, bones, £2 15s to £2 17s 6d ton : sheepskin?, Is 5d to 48 9d each; pelts, 2d to Is Id; lamb skins, Is 9d to 2a 6d : wool, fleece, s^d to 64d 1b; pieces, 3£d to 4§d. Cattle: Increa.ed numbers ware broughb forward, and the previoua week's values barely sustained. There wae an improved demand for stores; ox beef sold at 18* to 19a per 1001b, cow 17s; dairy cows from £4 10a to £7 15s ; dry cow £1 7a 6d to £3; calves. 12a 6d to 255; yearlings, £1 7» 6d to £1 12a 6d ; two-vear-old steers. £2 to £2 10s ; grown steers, £5 7a 6d to £5 sa; heifers, £1 10a to £2 15a. Sheep well fatted were in brisk demand ; wethers sold ab from 9. 9d to 15a 6d ; ewes, 6a to 10a 9d ; lamba, 4a 6d to 10a 3d : store ewe?, 3a 3d to 4* 3d ; store lambs, 2a 3d to 3a. Pitrs: Moderate supply of porkers, .old at from 16a to 33s each.
Messrs Alfred BacKLAND and Son report that ab Remuera on Thursday, dairy cows wero in moderate supply, sold freely ; prices for those ab profit rantred from £4 10s to £8. Store cattlo, in full numbers, were in better inquiry. Messrs Reid Brothers 1 steers brought £4 sa; cows, £2 2a to £5 ; 2-year-old bulls, £6 and £6 10a ; bull calves, 303 to £3 10a each. Young and fat calves in average numbers, sold satisfactorily. Fab cattle in loss then average supply, 190 yarded, sold irregularly at first; good steers wero ab 20a, bub fell bo 19s as the sale proceeded, and cows were lower bhan of late throughout. Sheep, yarded numerously at firab, were lower than ab last week's sale, but improved as the auction proceeded. Fab wethers brought from 7a 6d bo 14a 3d ; fat ewes, 7s to 12s 9d ; store sheep, 3a 3d bo 6a each. Piga in moderate supply ; 69 sold, were at late values, and choice quality better worbh.
Messrs G. W. Binney and Sons' Report. —On Tuesday we cleared an extra large catalogue of bidea, sheep skins, tallow, etc. Hides : Competition brisk throughout and late quotations fully maintained, with upward tendency on medium ox and cow. Prime ox sold from 6Sd to 7Jd ; extra stout, 5d to 6d ; stoub, 4d to4id ; medium. 3_d to 3^d; light and aheety, 2£d to 3d; cow, best lines, 3{d to 3|d ; medium, 3d ; inferior, 2Jd to 2;* d ; calf, 3d to 3id, for good lota. Damaged of claesea, nominal. Sheep sking : Local green and beat counbry salted, large, 3s 3d to 3a 6d ; medium, 3a ; small, 2a to 2s 6d ; dry equal, 4Jd bo 5d per lb for well woollcd. Tallow : Dull of sale, with downward tendency. Salea from 148 to 16a per cwb for good ordinary. Rough fab, Id to l§d per lb.
