RUGBY UNION COMMITTEE.
The Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union met ab tbe Metropolitan Hotel last night. Tbe main business was the consideration ot the application of Smith and Siddle to be allowed bo play for the City and Newton Clubs respectively, and the protest lodged by the Suburbs Club against Absolum being permitted to play for City. The requests of the two former players were granted, and the proteßb by Suburbs against Absolum playing for City was dismissed. Ib was decided thab no delegate should be senb bo represent; bhe Union at the forthcoming Referees' Conference which is to be held in Wellington. The grounds for Saturday's matches were allotted as follows:—No. 1, Ponsonby v. Parnell; No. 2, Grafton v. Suburbs ; North Shore and City to play ab Devoaport. First Juniors : No. 3, Parnell r. Ponsonby ; No. 4, Grafton v. Suburbs ; No. 5, City v. North Shore. Second Juniors: No. 6, Parnell v. Suburbs; No. 7, Grafton v. Ponsonby.
Note. — An English mail. via.Suez, will arrive from Sydney next Moßday morning, the llth inst. The mail left London oa tbe 27th ol March last.
