Mr 'Jamea Adams has just received a letter from Mrs E. W. Nicholls, Hon. Secretary, W.C.T.U., Adelaide, South Australia, strongly condemning the action, of tho Auckland Women's Liberal League: in reference to the CD. Acb, and hoping ifc will soon be repealed in New Zealand,. Mra Nicholls also states that the women over there will exercise the franchise for the firsb time at tho general election which, is to be hold on the 27th mat., and that) the Soubh Australian women are not likely to fall into the error of supporting such a horrible law as the C. D. Act.
The business premises of Mr Gilmonr, draper, Parnell, were broken into aboab three o'clock this morning and drapery of tiie value of £15 was stolen. Entry waa effected by prising back the lock of the front door by means of a "jimmy." A resident on the opposite Bide of the street) heard a noise aboat three o'clock at Mr Gilmour's shop, but on hia getting up to investigate, the thief or thieves had disappeared, leaving a "jimmy" behind them. It is supposed that as soon as they saw tho. light they made off. A safe containing % sum of money, which was also in the shop, was untouched.
