ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.

A meeting of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society waa held yesterday afternoon. It was stated by Mr J. Burtfc (Chairman) that the proclamation in the Gazette with regard to the shooting season was in a new form, and defined the districts over which the Society had jurisdiction, so thab there could be no dispute as to boundaries. Expenditure, £48 0s 7d. A fixed deposit of £200 is in the Bank of New Zealand. The proposed distribution of fish ova was announced as follows :—Waitetuna, near Raglan, 500 ; Firewood Creek, near Ngaruawahia, 200 ; Waingaro, 300; Upper Maungatawhiri, 500 ; Paerata, 250 ; Southern Wairoa and tributaries, 1,750; Waitakorei River, 250 ; streamß at Waipa, 500 ; Parua Bay, 200; streams at VVhangaroi, 500; Upper Waipa, at) Otorohanga, 3,000 ; Puniu, 1,000 ; Lower Waihou and Waimakariri, 10,000; Upper Waihou, 5,000; Waiomio, 2,000; Raparapa, 500; Mangawara, 500 : VVairere, 300 ; Orakau, 3,000 ; Pakariwhenua, 1,000 ; Little Waipa, 300; VVaitoa, 300. With reference to illegal shooting and selling of game, a deputation was appointed to wait on Inspector Hickson in regard to the matter. Two travelling rangers were appointed. Mr Norwood, of the Napier Police Station, wrote that Inspector Emerson would attend to the complainb of illegal fishing at Ilofcorua,
