The German Emperor.
Accokding to a correspondent of JJe • Times,' the German Emperor, in habits, tastes and sympathies, is more like an Englishman than like a German. Another blow bo our national salf-esteem. One reason pub forth for the exasperating conduct of the Kaiser in the Transvaal crisis v very quaint. Ib is that the Queen of Holland has bo be married when she is sixteen, in August this year. Her Majesty is a most eligible mabch, and it is well known tbab the German Emperor would gladly secure her hand for a member of his bouse. , _ _ But the Dutch hate the idea of a German Prince Consort of their Queen. They have looked towards Denmark; but the ongagemenb of Prince Charles to the Princes Maud of Wales has put oub of the question fehe moeb desirable engagement that the Queen could have entered into. Now, while the Dufcch hate the German*, thoy love the Boers, who are of their own blood. Hence ib is thought thab the German Emperor may have sent his messaoge of congratulation to the Boers and the insult to England in the hop» of carrying favour with the Dutch people, so as to pave the way for an alliance witl* a Pr&ssian Prince, probably "a son of Princi Albert of Prussia, who is Prince-Begont of Brunßwick. •
