AUCKLAND PROSPECTING ASSOCIATION.
An extraordinary meeting of shareholders in tho above Association was held to-day, in Messrs Morris and Edwards' oflico. Mr Graves Aickin, who presided, stated that three parties of prospectors were sent out, the first were sent to tho Whangamata district, and they pegged oub 100 acres called the Pioneer, another the Taviatock Extended, showing excellent results. had been pegged out. The third party wont to Kuaotunu, but no satisfactory results wore obtained. The expenditure since the formation of tho Association was, wages and travelling expenses, £11. Is ; survey and court fees, £71 2s 3d ; roS^orts, £4 lO.h ; office expenses and potty cai«h, £24 3s; SecreUrv'a salary, £32 ; legal costs, £28 3s 6d ; total, £271 2* 9d. The receipts were, by call- £338, leaving a balance in hand of £66 17s 3d. Mr Aickin said the report showed that the prospect before them was nob without a silver lining. They had a really good asset in the Tavistock Extended surplus. All the directors supported his views. He moved the adoption of tbe report, which was seconded by Mr Edwards and agreed Mr Edwards moved and! Mr Cooke seconded, " Thab in the opinion oc this meeting it is nob de3irablo .Co wiad up tho As<?ocition." Thia was also agreed to.
