BRITAIN AND EGYPT.
AN EXTRAORDINARY REPORT.
London, February 3,
The " Observer " gives currency to the report that Russia has refused suggestions by Germany to force England to evacuate Egypt.
Mr Gladstone, writing to the Prees, states that when the evacuation of Egypt was proposed in 1892, the Powers wore not willing to assist in arranging terms of settlement.
