Ab bhe meeting of the Board of Education on Jan. 21st, the result of examination for senior and junior scholarships for 1895, wore announced as follows :— SENIOR. Maximum Marks 4900.—James J. Stephenson (junior tcholar), 15 years 8 months, A.C. and G.S.,' 3,172; Geo. S. Kent, 14 years 6 months, A.C.G.S., 2,927 ; Alan E. Mulaao, 14 years 6 months, A.C.G.S., 2,855 ; Oliver W. H. Sinclair, 15 years 8 months, A.C.G.S., 2,854 ; Jessie J. Hetherington, 13 yeara 10 months, Thames High School, 2,836; Hugh Vickerman, 14 yeara, 11 mouths, A.C.C.S., 2.813 ; Mary E. Davidson, 15 years 10 months, A.C.G.S., 2,795 ; Owen L. Ilbert, 15 years 10 months, 2,562 ; Ethel B. Caddy (junior scholar), 15 years 11 months, A.C.G.S., 2,542, JUNIOR. Taylor, Norbhcoto, 507; Wm. E. Alexander, Waiuku. 498 ; Arthur R. Gabland, Onehunga, 487; Arthur R. H. Francis,Ponaonby, 483; Chas. Roberts, Par: nell, 470 ; Hilda Fountain, Devonport, 462 ; Evsm MucCormick, Newton Easb, 454 ; Ida Hill, Kaukapakapa, 443 ; Tboa. G. Rowe, Newton Wesb, 441 ; Mary F. Kirkbride, Mangere Bridge, 449 ; William W. The Board agreed to award scholarships to the whole of the above, viz., 11 senior and 23 junior. Mr Udy, the Chairman, stated ib was the largest number of scholarships given by bhe Board. The following is a summary of tho results for Junior Diatricb Scholarships :— Examined : Males, 81; females, 63 ; total 144. Qualified : Males, 16 ; females, 7; total 23. Failed to qualify : Males, 65 ; females, 56 ; total 121, For senior scholarships 48 were examined.
