MIKE MANAGERS' REPORTS.

British Empire.— In No.'l drive there are two nica looking leaders. The reef cannot be very far ahead. We expect theao to junction with it. In the upper drive there are several small stringers running through it. Sterling Goldmixing Company. — During the past week the contractors have extended tho low level a further distance of 20 feet, making a total distance driven of 110 ft. There has been a complete change in tho class of country, ib having changed from a brown formation into blue sandstone ; numbers of small quartz stringers are frequently met with which I consider is a very good indication of a larger body ot stone being close atl hand.

Waiiii Silvkrtok Extended. —We have started to drivo east and west on the new reef. The lode in both faces looks well, and the fair assay value of the quartz broken oub from these two drives is £9 10a per ton. The total store to gra-ss is 441 tons.

JSlaritaxa. —The crosa-cub to intersect No. 1 lode has* advanced a distance of sft through a nice class of sandstone country. A few ribs of quartz are appearing in the face.

Oceania.—Tho now low level 19 in 12ft, and alrendy good sandstone country is making up fasti from the bottom of the drive, and in a few more feet the drive should be clear of the broken ground.

May Queen Extended. —Wo have cleared out the low level 16ft. Where the break occurred there is a large soft reef formation crossing the level dipping to the southwest. Kaiser. —The manager writes thatsince forwarding his report the lead he is opening out upon has increased in size, and is now fully oft thick. At presont it is somewhat knocked about by a band of clay, but aa soon as he gets clear of this the quartz will contain gold.

FREE STOCK EXCHANGE REPORT,

The market remains pretty much the same. A fair amount of business is being transacted, but both buyers and eellers are lacking of energy in the transfer of stocks. The attendance at the morning and mid day calls to-day were not so large a3 usual, and although transactions in several ot the minor stocks were effected, the general tone of business was decidedly weak, few shares changing hands and fewer shares offered generally. In Kapai-Vermonts quotations have advanced to 9s 6d. May Queens are nlso asked for at Ss 6d to 8s 9d. Waihi-Silvertona claim a fair ahare of attention. New Golcondaa are in demand at advanced prices, consequent on encouraging report of late discoveries at the mine. In St. Patricks recent sales have apparently satisfied all present inquirers. Byron Bay etock has declined slightly. Bunker's iliils have weakened further. There is little movement in the Waiomo stocks. Holders of Monowais decline to sell at prices offered by buyers. Crowns are offered ac 30s with no buyers. Welcome Finds are, if anything, easier, but in this stock few transfers are made.
