RETURN OF MR F. A. WAITE
MAORI DREAM FLOATED IN
LONDON
Mr F. A. White, who has been on a visib to London, returned to Auckland in the mail steamer Mariposa to-day. He informed a Star reporter that the Maori Dream was floated in London, and that he expects a cablegram confirming the sale in a day or two. With regard"to the 6ale of the Moanataiari mine, Mr White says the Auckland shareholders receive no ca?h. They receive 50,000 shares paid up to £!, and £25,000 capital to work and develop the mine. If more capital is required tho English syndicate will issue 50,000 of the reserved shares. Mr White says the New Zealand rainea are talked about in London, bub the African mines have a great bearing on the market. To rush too many of our mines on the London market will be a great mistake. QUEEN OF WAIHI. A meeting of shareholders in the above Company was hold this afternoon in Mr D. G. Macdonnell'a office, which was presided over by Mr A. Kidd. The Chairman explained that the directors had arranged to acquire the Maid of Honour ground which adjoined for 20,000 of the reserve shares. This would make the Queen, of Waihi area about 200 acres. Under the terms proposed, local shareholders would receive share for share. On the Chairman's motion ib was resolved that the directors be authorised to sell the property of tho Company on such terms as they may deem fit.Jl CHAMBER OF MINES. A meeting of the Council of the Chamber of Mines was held this afternoon. Mr Seymour Thorne George (President), occupied the chair. Transfer of Scrip.—The Legal and Finance Committee reported that they had conferred with Mr Lennox, Chairman of the Broker's Association relative to transfer of scrip. The Committee were of opinion that scrip should be issued in all cases, and that steps be taken to secure this being done. The Chairman said the matter had better be deferred, as the Brokers' Association hold a mooting to ■ morrow to consider the matter. GOLDEN ANCHOR. An extraordinary meeting of shareholders in this company takes place to-morrow at the Chamber of Commerce. MAORI DREAM. Aba meeting of shareholders in the above Company, hold this afternoon at Mr F. A. White's office, presided over by Mr Thornes, a resolution was passed authorising the directors to dispose of the Company's mine and property on such terms aa they may consider expedient. The directors were also empowered to execute all deads and documents necessary to complete any sale. NEW MOANATAIARI. A rumour was current on the Exchange this afternoon that the terms upon which the New Moanataiari mine was floated in London, differed from those previously understood by the local directors. The reporb was to the effect that private news received to-dny gave the terms as fallows :—Capital, £200,000 ; local shareholders to receive 60,000 shares and also £5,000 in cash. Should this prove to be tho caae ib will be a pleasant surprise if shareholders receivo Is dividend and are saved a call of Is per share. We ara informed that) the terms aro as stated at tho meeting of shareholders held yesterday afternoon.
