" Should the Chinese be excluded from our shores," formed the subjecb of a very interesting address delivered lasb evening by Mr J. B. Graham, ab bhe usual fortnightly meeting of St. Alban's Literary Society. The chief contention of the address was thab ib was unjusb to excluda Chinese subjects on account of their nation* aliby. Messrs F. G. Ewington and Nicholas supported the lecturer, whilst Messra W. Hill and E. Nordon contended thab the proposal to exclude Chineee from our shores was nob on accounb of their nationality, bub because their presence among us acted as a menace to tho industrial world. Messrs E. E. Yaile and T. C. Schnackenberg, as delegates from the Literary Societies' Union, addressed the members on various topics of interest.
