As showing that oyster culture is receiving considerable attention, ib is stated that: the Wellington Oyster Company, at Porirua, have applied for permission to uso an additional poition of the foreshore. W. Jones, of Porirua, is also applying for.lease of a portion of the foreshore, in order, to establish now bods. Leases hjave been granted Co M. H. Baxter aud \V_ Devonport for the a_>me purpose in Tory Channel, and P. E wing is applying for a lease in the same locality. ■■.■■-'_ -■"...
