A SERIOUS CHARGE,

(BY IELEGRAPH.—rRESS ASSOCIATION).

Wellington, this day,

Early yesterday mornine a woman named Annie Friend, living'in Littlo Hawestonestreet, waa found suffering from concussion of the brain, and was removed to the Hospital in an uuconacious state. Later in the day, Charles Nicholson, with whom she had been living, was arrested on a charge of causing her grievous bodily barm. The woman died in tbo hospital at two this morning. Tho accused states that tier injuries were caused by ber falling oh>a fender.
