THE REV- THOMAS COOK'S MISSION.
Referring to the mission work of the Rev. Thomas Cook, who is now in Auckland, a correspondent writes ;—" The authorities of the Wesleyan Church in New Zealand have been fortunate in securing the services of bhe Rer. Thomas Cook, one of the most successful evangelisbs in connection with the Methodist Church in England. Mr Cook has been engaged in this special work for the last twelve years, and in every place be has visited a marvellous success has attended his labours. Recently, he has been labouring in Australia, where something like 5,000 made decision for Christ. His experience in Africa was unique, nothing like " ib" has been- witnessed since the ivisib of California Taylor some 25 years ago. In connection with his mission in Stockporb, England,' 1,048 persons professed to find peace with God • during- the1 -mission; - • Of- theso 300 belonged to other churches, and their names and addresses were forwarded to their respective ministers. '• There is nothing, we understand, in Mn Cook's methods or style to which the most fastidious can reasonably object:. His atternoon meetings for tho deeponing of spiritual life are always well attended and most helpful to Christians, Mr Cook and his wife have reached Auckland and are enjoying a well-earned holiday ab tho North Shore. On Sunday evening nexb he will preach in the Devonporb Wesleyan Church, then after a brief visit to Rotorua, he commences a ten days' mission in the Pittstreet Church on Sunday the 20th insb."
