Wellington^ this day. Twenty-one tenders, were received from
Haw|ke's Bay, Westland and Southland, for timber to be sent Home, bat unfortunately it hajs yeb to be cub. The conditions are thatf the wbod must be well seasoned, bub it appears thab felling only, goes on ito meeb requirements. The Government specially desire to make a favourable impression, wnicb cannot be done with green wood. . ■
