SWIMMING GALA.
A swmming gala under the auspices of the Auckland Swimming Club was held lasb evening in the Albert-street Baths. There was a good attendance of spectators, and the programme passed off capitally. Gordon Keesing, a little boy of six, ewatn 150 yards in pood style, and Bailey and Hoey (Whangarei) gave an exhibition race of 72 yards, the former winning in 52sec. The events sell down resulted as follows:
Boys' Race, 72 yardß.-rS. Wood, 4sec, 1; P. H, Hughes, ssec, 2; N. J. Kenny, 4sec, 3. Time, 64 3-stb sec. Ladies' Race, 36 yards.—Miss. Clare Hill, scratch, 1; Miss Borbha Keane, 4sec, 2. Time, 37«ec. Neat Header.—This evenb was won by C. W. Dalton. ■ Youths Under 21 years, 72 yards.—J. Percival, 6soc, 1; F. A. Hedges, scratch, 2. Time, 55aec. Schoolgirls' Race, 36 yards.—This race was won by Miss Bertha Keane, 4sec. Blindfold Race, 36 yards.—Morton, 3sec, 1; J. H. Dixon, 3sec, 2. 180 Yards Race.—Firsb heat: F. A. Hedges, scratch, 1 ; O. Hughes, 7sec, 2 ; J. T. Fraser, 6sec, 3. Time, lmin 37£ sec. Second heat: H. Hoey, scratch, 1 ; U. Thomas, 9sec, 2. Time, lmin 31^sec. The final was won by C. Thomas. Cored- Dive.—This evenb was won by C. Thomas.
Boys' under 16, 72 yards.—Tyler, 2sec, 1; N. J. Kenny, ssec, 2; P. J. Bailey, scratch. 3.
