MR. A. J. MUNDELLA.

HIS CONNECTION WITH THE LOAN AND MERCANTILE. London, December 16. Me A. J. Mundella, formerly President of the Board of Trade, in addressing his constituents, explained his connection with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, and his reasons for resigning his portfolio after Judge Williams' remarks on bis action as director. He declared that the reason why the explanation had neb been given earlier was that the case was still subjudiee. He had, he said, done his duty, and feared no man's cenßure. Mr Mundella told his constituents he was certain every act of the old directorate of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile was prompted by the sole desire to benefib the company. He and his old colleagues would be glad bo see the new company prosper.
