Thousands of people left by coach, trams, sfceanier and rail for various gatherings, the principal of which are the Christchurch Racing Club's Meeting, ChriatcV.urch Cycling Club's Sports, labour demonstration gathering, and the Akaroa Regatta. Numerous picnics are also being held.
