THE VALIDATION COURT.

Gisborne, thia day. * A largely attended meeting was held a tho Academy of Music last night, whon the following resolutions wero carried unani" mously :—" That in the opinion of this meeting (1) the prosperity- of the Easb Coast greatly depends upon the success of the Validation Court; (2) that members of thab Courb deserve and enjoy bhe confidence of the public ; (3) that the Government should givo overy assistance to the Court in the performance of its duties ; (4) that the Judge should have full power to remit fees in cases where such remission is necessary or proper." Ib was also carried, "Thab this meeting requests the members for districts, both European and Maori, to use their best endeavours to give ©fleet to the foregoing resolubions, and to urge the Government to give every assistance to the Validation Court in its important and useful work." A feature of the meeting was the large number ot natives present. Two Maoris addressed the meeting, expressing themselves as thoroughly satisfied wich Judge Barton and his Validation Court.
