MONTAGUE-TURNER OPERA SEASON.
At the Opera House this evening the Montague • Turner Opera Company will resume their season with the production for this nighb only of Gounod's most eel* brabod work, the grand opera " Faust. Ib is now over two years since this favourite opera was last heard in this city, and on that occasion, Miss Annis Montagne essayed—as will be the case this evening— he'1 magnificent rendering of "Marguerite." The interpretation of this role w« may safely assert, has never been surpassed in the colonies, and, no doubt lover* of opera will eagerly seize this the only Opportunity of its rendition by the talented artistes now with us. Mr Farley as '• Mephistopheleß," Mr William Walshe as Faust, and Miss Cicely Staunton as Siebel, in conjunction with Mibs Anon Montague, forma quartette which for excellence it would indeed be difficult to improve upon. The chorus and orchestra, under tho baton of Mr Harcourb Lee, should do full justice to the many genrt w the opera. To-morrow evening Bizebi favourite work " Carmen " will be itajrea for tho first and only time this season, Wednesday being sel apart for a benefit) to Mrs Turner and the production of « Trovatore." We are asked to announce that on accounb of the length of the opera the overture will commence at 7.45 sharp this evening. .;
