A large meeting of shareholders in the Farmers' Co-operative Association, with practical unaninity, resolved to reconstruct, in order to care a technical defecb in the memorandum of association. A statemenb of the financial position of the Association waa applauded as satisfactory. Christchurch, this day. Nine members of the crew of the B.s. Tainui were fined in sums varying from £5 6s 3d to 17s 6d and costs (£1 8s) on each case, being mitigated penalties, with forfeiture of good?, for having in their possession on board the ship at Lyttelton, cigars and tobacco valued ab £137, on which duty had not been paid.
