THE PAREMATA CASE.
Gibborne, this day. *N the Validabion Court the decree for pre- - Bontation to Parliament in the Paremata case was finally arranged, with the exception of the appointment of a receiver, which will be settled within a few days. Judge Barton congratulated the Bar, natives, and people of tho district; on the termination arrived ad. Aa soon as the decree was arranged the receivers would proceed to deal with the estate and make it of value to bring in money. There were two and a half years of mortgage to run, and with skilful and proper management he thought thab within that tiir.e the natives would be able to pay off the debt. Up to this, Mr Carroll and Wi Pero, who were to bo receivers for the Maoris, had appeared as if they were owners in trust, but in reality they had been helpless to do anything. Now, they were independent of everybody but the Court, and these two, with another to be appointed, would i manage the whole property, through the ' Court. Their first duty was to pay oft the mortgage. All incomplete transactions would probably be dealt with in a similar manner.
