Sir,—A short time ago the flagship of the French admiral was considerably abused oti account of its remarkably ugly colour, but it appears that the object was to prevent her being eeon at nighc. I sto thab our City Council Have taken the hint and have painted onr lamp posts the same colour, co that in the dusk and when the lamps are nob lit, pedestrians will have a much better chance of breaking their noses against them.—l ara, etc., Argus. •
