Mr Hall, a gentleman who purchaaed Cumnor Place under the belief that ho waa acquiring Amy Robsart's prison, commonly reported to be haunted by her ghost, pued the Earl ot Abingdon, to rescind the purchase on bbc ground that ib is nob the original historical place. A verdict was given in favour of bhe Earl.
