Cambridge, Monday. TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. The annual meeting of the members and adherents of this church was held on Friday evening, the Pasbor, bhe Rev. W. Evans, presiding. The sessional reporb was read by Elder Fisher. It showed thab the work of the church was steadily progießsing, and was being satisfactorily carried on not only in Cambridge, but also in bho oubiying uietricbs. T" ;■ reporb Of bhe Managing Committee and the balance-sheet were adopted. The latter showed the receipts to hove been £313 15s 7d, and bhe expendibure £311 5s 2d, leaving a small crodit balance to cairy forward. A smail sub-comrnitteohad been appointed lo inspect the spiro of tho church, and this Committee now recommend thab the spire should be ab once removed or ib will probably collapse. Messrs John Ferguson and Jamea Anderson had a miraculous escape while inspecting bhe spire, for a board on which tbey were standing suddenly gave way, and thoy had to exhibit considerable adroibness to avoid a drop of about oOft. The spire will be demolished ab an early date, and the fronb of the church will be finished off plainly. The alteration will slightiy enlarge tho church, and .the orgun will be moved. During an interval in the proceedings, Mr John Fisher, on bohalf of the subscribers, presented the Rev. W. Mr Evans was visibly allected by this mark of esteem, and after thanking tho donors for the handsome gift, eaid it wan a strange coincidence i hat at thoeommoncementof bis ministry he was presented wibh a wabch by some friends who " hoped ib would enable him bo keep time," and now, ab whab must he about tho close of his ministry, he received anobher presentation that also reminded him of time. He rogrobted tho absence of his wife, and assured them that nothing but serious illness prevented her attonding. Ho bolieved ib was bho only bimo bhab his wife had nob been with himab bho annual church meebing during tho wholo of bho fifty years they had beeen married. Tho following church officers wero oppoinbod : —General Commibbe : Cambridge, J. Anderson, G. Campbell, J. Forguson and S. Howard; Hautapu, W. Russell and Lewis Edson ; Pukorimu, J. Scott and Wm.
