IRISH NATIONAL CONCERT.
Hibernians were ever fond of music, consequently it is not to be wondered ab that the concert in aid of the funds of St. Patrick's Presbytery should be woll attended last nighb in St. James's Hall. As a matter of facb the hall was packed, and a number of people had to be turned away. The Hon. J. G. Ward and the Postal delegates attended, and there were presenb a number of the clergy, including Monsignor Macdonald, and Father Hacketb. So enthusiastic was the audience that almost every performer was recallod. The pupils of St. Patrick's schools sang, "The Doar Harp of Ireland " and " Let Erin Romomber" excellently, a good orchestra under Mr Hiscockft rondering valuable assistance. Pianoforte solos were contributed by Miss C. Brabazon and Miss Lynch, whilo Professor and Sliss North played "Serenata and Irish Fsvntasia," upon the bandurria and guitar. One vnry pleasing item was bho quartette, "The Minstrel Boy," by Miss O'Sullivan, Mm Hiscocks, Mr Tapper, nnd Mr Stebbing. "Flow On, Thou Shining Paver," and "Sainted Mother." were sung as duets .by Misses Clara and Coloba Lorrigan in thoir usual excellent style. Tho latter also santr "Eily Mavourneen," from the "Lily of Killarney." Miss O'Sullivan and Mr Tapper also sang "Erin, tho Tear and Smilo," admirably. Songs woro rendered as follows : " Kate O'Shano," by Miss Josephine Donovan ; " Killarney," by Miss Quinn ; " Mooting of bho Wabers," by Mr h. W. Moore; "Who Fears to Spoak of '98." by Mr Horace Stebbing; "Tho Irish Emigrant," by Mr Tapper; and " Dear Littlo Shamrock," by Mr Mnsker. Tho accompaniments were played by Misses Braba/on, Lynch, and McChosDey.
