MORE FUNDS WANTED.
The annual meeting in connection with the Presbyterian City Mission book place lasb night in Sb. James' Church, Wellingtonsbreet, there boing 50 persons present. The Rev. R.'Sommerville presided, and in his opening ronuvrks expressed regreb thab the attendance was not larger, in order to show sympathy wibh thoir dovotod and energobic missionary Mr McPhorson. Treasurer's Statement. —Mr J. C. Macky read the annual balance-sheet which showed bho total receipts for bhe year to havo been £135 Is 3d, including a credib balance of £34 3s 2d ab tho commencement of last year. Tho contribubions from bhe churches wero as follows:—St* James's, £21 10a ; Sb. Luke's, £22 8s ; Sb. Andrew's £22 Os; St. David's, £',\Q ; Sb. Stephen's Sunday-school, £1 ; Ellerslie, £2 ; Hobsonville, £3 ; Devonport, £5 ; Elders' Associabion, £3 5s Id, and £2 6s from obher sources. The expenditure amounted' to £120 19a 2d, of which £120 was the missionary's stipend. Tho Treasurer explained bhab bhe balance in hand was £14 2s Id, just £20 lesa than that with which the year commenced. A_ a matter of facb they had only raised £100 during the year. Annual Report.—Mr McPherson read tho annual report. Ib showed bhat aboub 6,000 persons attended the Mission services during tho year, and tho meetings in the gaol had an average abtendance of 40. Meetings were also held at the Asylum. Mr McPherson also complimented the officials of the Charitable Aid Board, stating bhab prompt help was given to real cases of distress. A few words of praise were also given to Mr Brakenrig. . Officers.—Tho following officers were elected :—President, Rev. Scobb Wesb ; Treasurer, Mr Matthew Clark ; Secretary, Mr G. H. Mill ; Commitbee, Messrs George William, James Paterson, T. Knight, A. jowitt, J. Brown, G. Carter. D. Gijrrioek, G Herd, W. Dinnison. J. S. Macky. L. Sbewarb and J. C. Macky. During bhe evening addresses were given by the Rev. T. F. Roberbson, Rev. Scotb Wesb, Messrs Johnson, Enbrican and obher friends. Refreshments wore supplied, and ab intervals the following ibems were sung : '* Bub the Lord is Mindful of His Own," by Mrs Edmondes; " Chariby," Miss Falls; and Mozart's " Thou, O God, Arb Praised in Zion," by Miss Sneddon. Beforo bhe gabhering dispersed, a collection was made on behalf of bhe funds of the Mission.
