THE ANARCHISTS.
THE PARIS CHURCH OUTRAGE,
Paris, March 16. Tn® Jbom,b. waa expl.odod^at the entrance of the £harch of tbe: Madeleine in «?he cijy. Th^ author of the outrage' waa killed Instantly, his body being terribly mutilated. On his.remains being searched, a copy of a pJjotogjraNj* of R^yachol, ihs £na?cjj]i»t leader executed some time ago, was found in one of his pockets.. The police authorities believe the explosion was premature, and that the bomb was intended to do its deadly work during the progress of the service. The remains of the author of the outrage have been identified as those of an Anarchisb named Pauwels, who was employed at) the chemical factory of Paul Roclass. The missile was found to be composed ot chloride powder and long nails. Eyei-witness.es of the affair state that Pauwels had i placed the bomb in position, bub in trying to escape he accidentally kicked it, causing it to explode. The whole mass of nails lodged in the man's stomach, for he was se close to the bomb thab they had nob time to scatter, otherwise more people would probably have been killed. Three men have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the outrage.
