MATCH HEADS AGAIN.
Yet another attempt to commit selfdesbiuction occurred th?s morning, match heads beuig again the agency employed in the futile endeavour bo take away life. Information waa conveyed to Constable Finnerty, of the Fieeman's Bay police station, (stating thab Mrs Gray, wife of William Gray, 'bus driver of College Hill, had taken a quantity of match heads. Mra Gray, who is only 23 years of age, mixed the heads of 40 matches in warm water and then drank the poisonous solution. Constable Finnerty at once administered an emetic of mustard and water, which was unsuccessful and did nob cause any vomiting. Dr. King, however, had been telephoned for, and on his arrival Bhortly afterwards he applied the stomach pump, with the result that the whole of the Btuff was removed. The woman was then taken to the Hospital, where she ia now progressing very favourably. Mrs Gray, who has two children, haa been suffering lately from an internal complaint, and has been attended by Dr. Lewis.
