Or/X readers will be glad to learn thab the business of Messrs Me Arthur and Co., warehousemen, is nob to be either closed lor sold, bat carried on by the firm, In a circular issued to-day, Messrs McArbhur and Co. state, " We have pleasure in informing you that it is our intention to carry on businesa as usual, bub thab we have decided to close our Wellington house, and havo made other radical changes, which will enable as to offer our goods at much lower prices than hitherto. Our policy will be to work on lower stocks with frequent shi_ments to assort the same, and at reduced profits. In order to inaugurate the new departure, wo intend to hold a large sale during the present month, when our stock will bo offered ab clearing prices. —(Signed) W. McArthur and Co." We understand thab negotiations which were proceeding for sale of the business as a going concern fell through owing to the offers nob coming up to the amount expected by the firm, who were nob prepared to quib aba loss.
