Mr Alexander Aitken reports business has been very brisk during the past few days. New potatoes wero in fair demand at the beginning of the week, and in consequence advanced Id. per lb. Heavier supplies later on causod prices to drop again, and the market has still a downward bendency. Monday's values wore : Shepherd, Id to l^d ;"kidneya, l^d. Present values are: Kidneys, l£d; medium quality, Id ; Shepherds, Id ; old potatoes hard to qui£ at £5 10a. Onions : California slow of sale ab lfd lb ; bran, £3 per bon ; sharps, £3 10s ; fowl wheab, 2s 9d to 3s; maize, 2s 9d bo 2s 10d for feeding sorts, 3s 3d to 3s 6d for seed. Very heavy supplies of vegetables are coming in, groon peas realised 5d bo Is 2:1 per peck ; French beans, 7d to la; rhubarb, 2s 3d to 5a per dozen bunches ; cabbages, 6d to la Sd per sack, 4d to Is 9d per dozen.
