The Survey Departmenb is taking advantage of the summer weather to push forward tho surveys in the Waimarino country, whioh contains over 200,000 acres thab will be availablo for selection ; an d by tho end of the season bhe Department hopes to have some of the land ready for settlement. In addition to the ordinary survey*., several Association blocks are being marked off. The main road bhrough this country » being formed, with all possible expedition, and should be ready for through wheeled traffic early nexb year. This will connecb Hunterville and Napier right bln*OUgh to the Wanganui Rivor ab Pipiriki.
