Melbourne, October 31. Ab Flemington, this morning, Portsea covered two miles in 3min 41Jsec ; Tarcoola accomplished the same distance half-a-second faster. The latter is regarded as the best outsider in the Cup. Trenchanb bounded over a milo and a-quarter in beautiful style, in 2min ISsec. Lighb Artillery, who is again quite sound, was eenb bhe Derby disbance, which he complebed in 2min 50isec. At Epsom Camoola braversed bwo miles in 3min 40_isec. Malvolio finished badly ab bhe end of a bwo-mile gallop ab Caulfield, whero Sternchaser and Pounamu put in sterling work over tho came distance.
