(Before Messrs H. M. Shcphard and A. Clements, J.P.s) Drunkenness.—Two first offenders wore mulcted in the usual penalties for being drunk.—Denis Sullivan was fined 10s, or in defauib, 48 hours in Mount. Eden, tor the same offenco. Police Ojfences Act.—Arthur Frost admitted riding a bicycle along tho footpath in Manukau Road, Epsom, to the danger of persons walking on the footpath, contrary to the Police Offences Acti, and was fined 5s and costs. Prohibition Order.—An application for a prohibition order against a respectablolooking woman named Jane Leslie was adjourned until Monday noxt.—The defendant stoutly denied tho charge. Neighbours' Quarrels.— Garret Barry was charged that on the 13th of October at Meadow Bank ho did use provoking- language towards Andrew Michael Croagb.— Mr Tylden appeared for complainant and Mr Brookfiold for defendant. Tho evidence disclosed that the defendanb wa3 iv the habic of taking contracts from complainant for ploughing and harrowing of land ab Meadow Bank, lb was in connection with one of these contracts that tho abusive language complained of in the information was Baid to have been used.— The case waa dismissed, each party to pay their own costs.
