ATTEMPTED POISONING.
A YOUNG GIRL BEFORE THE
POLICE COURT.
This morning ab the Police Court, beforo Messrs H. M. Shephard and A. Clements. J.P.'s., a girl named Flora Nicholson, 15 years of age, was charged thab on the 3rd Of October, ab Prospect-street, Ponsonby, she did abtempb to kill and murder herself. The girl admitted the offence. Sergeant Gamble said that on tho date mentioned tho girl put a number of match heads in water and drank the contents. She was taken to tiie Hospital, and had been discharged from thab instibubion. The father of tho girl said he could nob Bay why hia daughta: attempted to take her life.
The Bench addressied the girl on the gravity of bhe offence), and gaid sho had broughb trouble upon her father as well as herself. There must bo something behind tho whole affair. Ib was to bo hoped that sho would not be seen in Courb again, and that it would be a warning. The charge would be dismissed.
