Alhurnia,— Ab the 70 feob level eastern drive tho reef is still split up, but is apparently improving as the drive advances. Fair-class oro is being obtained frdm Nos. 2 and 3 stopes on tho hangingwall over the eastern drive. At No. 5 stope in tho intermediate level tho reef is very much changed in appearance. Apparently this stope has now run through the picked stone. This has been brokon down several times in the pasb week; a litfclo gold hns been Been, but no picked stone saved. No. 5 stope on the foofcwall has been extended and iibo the stopes on the western side of winze ; from them all a fair class of payable ore is coming to hand. Tho battery has been kept fully employed, as usual, during bhe week. Amalgam on hand for the week, 5060z; total amalgam on hand, 1,4380z. Picked stone on hand, 2301b. Calliope.—The reef uverages six inches, and shows coloura of gold, also v good deal of dark mineral.
