THE KATOOMBA AT SAMOA.
MOTION TO RESCIND THE RESO< LUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY.
The following is tho full text of tho resolutions passed by the Parliament of Now South Waloa in reference to the despatch of H.M.s. Katoomba to Samoa, and which the Premier has since given notice of motion to rescind :—ln tho Assembly Sir George Dibbs rose and gavo notice of tho following motion for conaiderabion on Thursday, Octobor 12:
1, Thab bhe following resolubions:—"l. Thab bhe contribubion of public money from Now South Wales towards the fund in connection with the Australasian naval defences proposal wasobtained aud granted on the distinct understanding that the vessels forming the squadron should be employed exclusively in Australasian waters aud in Australasian naval operations. 2. Thab the Samoa.n war was an affair totally foreign to Anstralasian interests, and without material concern to tho various Australasian colonies. '.',. That bhe presence, consequently, of the Katoomba, one of the Australasian squadron, at Samoa, and her activo intervention with foreign men of war in the troubles of that island, form together a grave infraction of the terms of the naval agreement with tho Imperial authorities. 4. That the above resolutions be communicated by address to His Excellency the Governor, with a request that he will be pleased to forward the samo to Her Majesby's Government."
