(BY TELEGRAPH. —PKESS ASSOCIATION.)
Chkistchcrch, this day; Between Saturday night and Monday morning the premises of Strange and Company, drapers, were entered, and a fruitless attompb made to open a lnrge safe. Entry was otfectod by climbing a fence and forcing tho padlock of tho back door. The safe, which weighed almost half a ton, was pulled over, turned on its side, and one plate partly forced oft. Failure to succeed ia explained by the following words, written on tho safo with a piece of candle: — "No time, and little room. Bad luck." A cupboard and drawers in the office were also ransacked, but nothing of value to the burglars wan found. Nothing has been rnisaad so far from the shop, and no cluo was left. A quantity of dress material was usod to d&aden the noise made by the movements of tho men while in the office.
