Pride of Karaka.—The manager reports thab the country is very favourable for gold, bub unfavourable for making headway. Saxon. — Tho manager reports.: — " Gribble crushed bhree loads for 17qz 7dwb Of gold." ■"'"l'ti.i. i Moanataiari— The manager repgrtg ( that. 51 tons of quartz and 142 tons of surface dirt have been paesed through the battery for 25 and 21ozs of amalgam, respectively. The stopes above Point Russell level show a little gold ab each breaking down, and during the past week from eight to ten pounds picked Rtone were selected. Tne number of workmen in the. 100-foot level south has been reduced to five, as it will not Day to carry each stop tbe full length ot the block. No. 1 level of tbe Hazelbank B haft has been driven 12 feet into the Moanataiari ground. Gold is frequently seen, and a pound or two of stone containing nice, strong dabs of gold were selected. ALBURMA.-Tbe manager reports that WO rk has been principally confined to the east and west stopes. The reef in No. 5 stope has improved very considerably both Sand value. From the sixth stope the 301b picked stone were obtained yesterday The reef here is tally three feet S'k and carries a little visible gold amongst the mineral. This class,of orebv its dip-cannob yet be met with at the feet fevel, consequently the drive at that level will be pushed on again.
